In a statement, the Commission for the Coordination and Regional Development of Alentejo (CCDR Alentejo) makes it known that the tender notice for modernization of the Casa Branca-Beja railway section is open.
The tender notice for modernization is open, requalification and electrification of the Alentejo Line (Casa Branca-Beja section), framed in the National Investment Plan 2030 (PNI 2030).
This notice aims to promote more sustainable and efficient mobility in the region, enhancing territorial cohesion and contributing to the decarbonization objectives of the transport sector.
Actions involving modernization will be supported, requalification and electrification of the Alentejo Line in the section between Casa Branca and Beja, and the beneficiary of this notice is Infraestruturas de Portugal, SADDLE.
The notice provides for an indicative allocation of 80.600.000 €, with a maximum co-financing rate of 85% by FEDER (European Regional Development Fund), and the warning runs until 16 June 2025.
According to the CCDR Alentejo document, this intervention represents a significant step towards the sustainable development of the Alentejo region, improving railway infrastructure and contributing to a more modern and efficient transport system.
