Air Force: P-3 C plane parked at BA11 on mission in São Tomé and Príncipe.


Portuguese Air Force P-3 C aircraft (FAP) initiated a cooperation mission with São Tomé and Príncipe (STP).

A P-3C aircraft, Portuguese Air Force, with 37 Military, landed on the day 11 July this year, in Sao Tome and Principe (STP), with the objective of carrying out air missions within the scope of Bilateral Cooperation with São Tomé and Príncipe, also of the “AMLEP – Africa Maritime Law Enforcement Partnership” Program., contributing to the supervision of the Exclusive Economic Zone of this country, within the scope of the cooperation agreement between the Portuguese Republic and the Democratic Republic of São Tomé and Príncipe in the field of inspection of maritime spaces under the sovereignty or jurisdiction of the Democratic Republic of São Tomé and Príncipe.

this mission, with a maximum of 70 flight hours, of which 27 will be held in São Tomé and Príncipe, aims to contribute to the international effort on maritime security in the Gulf of Guinea.

The detachment will operate from Nuno Xavier Airport, in Sao Tome and Principe, up day 21 July this year, wherein, after that date, will start operating from Praia International Airport – Nelson Mandela, in Cape Verde, up day 01 August, date on which you will return to Air Base No. 11, in Beja, Portugal.
