An Embraer KC-390 plane from the Portuguese Air Force was in the Central African Republic to carry out a mission in support of the UN.
Operated by the Squadron 506 – Rhinos, the KC-390 of the Portuguese Air Force supported MINUSCA, the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission for the Central African Republic.
On this flight, an M1151 HMMWV jeep (Humvee), which is used as an ambulance, was brought back to Portugal.
Near 230 Portuguese Army soldiers are in the country supporting the UN peacekeeping mission, acting as a quick reaction military force (QRF in English) to support blue helmets in clashes against terrorist groups and local separatists.
