“We demand our parishes in accordance with the will of the populations” it is with this hope and desire that the CDU Elected in the Parish Assembly of the Union of Parishes of Santa Vitória and Mombeja defend the replacement of the two parishes.
In a communiqué, the elected communists reveal, who took a motion “For the replacement of parishes” to the meeting of 22 December 2021, which was approved with four votes in favor and three abstentions and sent to various political institutions.
“At the meeting of the Parish Assembly that took place on the 27 September 2022, the elected members of the CDU questioned the current executive of the Parish Council about what legal and administrative mechanisms were provided from December to September for the replacement of the parishes, who replied that the motion had been sent to the agreed entities and that nothing further had been done”, justify the elected communists.
Those elected by the CDU consider that Law no. 39/2021 of 24 June, approved by the Socialist Party, “it is a very limiting law and against the will of the populations and they reaffirm the commitment with the population of the União de Freguesias to do everything so that the parishes of Santa Vitória and Mombeja are replaced and that they will go to the last instances to achieve this objective”.
On 6 of November of the current year held a meeting in Mombeja to listen to the population and, following that meeting, promoted a petition in collaboration with the populations of Mombeja, Santa Vitória and Juliana Mine.
“This petition signed by 242 voters who claim the amendment of Law no. 39/2021 of 24 of June that prevents the replacement of their parishes was taken by the elected members of the CDU to the last meeting of the Parish Assembly held last day 6 of December, for approval of its submission by the Parish Assembly of the Union of Parishes of Santa Vitória and Mombeja to the Assembly of the Republic, Beja City Council and Beja City Council, given the importance of this claim, concretize.
After some reflection and discussion, its dispatch was approved by the Parish Assembly, with five votes in favor and two abstentions. Last day 19 December the undersigned was sent to the bodies mentioned above, always with the hope and desire that the law be changed and that the parishes of Santa Vitória and Mombeja be replaced in accordance with the will of their populations.
