The last round of the District Championship of the 1st Division of the Beja Football Association is played today (AFBeja) and the District Champion may not ascend to the Portuguese Championship next season.
At issue is the fact that the club does not comply with the rules imposed by the Portuguese Football Federation, that go through the Certification and Licensing of the clubs. The Awakening, 1Ranked 1 travels to Moura and Castrense, 2th ranked, faces Mineiro Aljustrelense in the field of this.
Wake Sporting Club, Beja, and Castrense Football Club, Castro Verde, are the only two emblems that can reach the title and if the Bejense club finishes in first place and gets the district title, cannot ascend to the National, because it is not licensed.
If Castrense is to take the title to Castro Verde, the situation is still not very clear within the leadership. There are those who defend that the club should only go up if it is first, but there are those who defend that directly or by invitation, the club should not ascend to Nacional.
In addition to Serpa and Vasco da Gama de Vidigueira, who competed this season in the Portuguese Championship, at A.F.Beja only four clubs comply with federative regulations: Martial, Miner Aljustrelense, Moura and Milfontes Beach.
If Awakening has the title, the association will have to invite one of these four clubs that have the Certification and Licensing. In Castro Verde, the situation is not yet defined and the decision will only be taken after tomorrow's matchday is disputed.. In Aljustrel and Moura, the economic situation of the two clubs is not famous and the promotion could entail great costs and serious problems in the future. Finally comes Milfontes Beach, a club that has never played in the National Championships and that can take the place of promotion, if the situation goes through the invitation of A.F.Beja.
If none of the four clubs agree to participate in the Portuguese Championship, it will be up to the Portuguese Football Federation to indicate who will occupy the vacancy of the clubs in the Bejense association.
The participation of district clubs in the Portuguese Cup is not subject to the rules of the championships, hence the presence of Castrense or Penedo Gordo, who will play the final of the Cup district of Beja, or the 2nd classified of the District Championship are not in question.
