GNR: Colonel Pedro Ramalho should be the new commander of the Beja Territorial Command.


The inauguration ceremony of the new commander of the Beja Territorial Command of the GNR should take place during the month of September.

Has learned the Lidador News (LN) together with a source knowledgeable about the process, Colonel Pedro Ramalho, who was promoted to the post last June and was previously second-in-command of the Évora Territorial Command (CTE), is the favorite of the General Command (CG) da Guarda, to assume the post of commander of the Beja Territorial Command (CTB).

The officer will replace the position, the acting commander, Colonel GalvĂŁo da Silva, who took office on the day 18 November 2021, as Lieutenant Colonel, ceremony is presided over by the then General Commander of the GNR, Tenant-General Rui Clergy.

LN found that Galvão da Silva, in March 2024 was considered the best commander of the Territorial Commands, having also received a monetary prize “for his excellent performance”, according to the General Command. In the corridors of the CG of Guarda there is talk that he will be proposed for the General Promotion Course.

Unity Day

The Territorial Command Beja (CTBeja) celebrates next day 1 August Unity Day, with the LN having determined that the ceremony will take place, that day from 10:30 am, in Vidigueira, birthplace of the CTBeja commander.
