GNR/ Guardia Civil: Serpa hosts international seminar on policing cross-border regions.


International Seminar “Policing in Cross-border and Low Density Regions – Challenges for Security Forces and Communities”.

Takes place today in Serpa, in the Auditorium of the Edificio Musibéria, an International Seminar whose theme is “Policing in Cross-border and Low Density Regions – Challenges for Security Forces and Communities”.

This seminar aims to know the socioeconomic reality of this type of territories, what measures are implemented by the various actors that contribute to the safety and well-being of the populations that reside in them, as well as the difficulties in its implementation, in order to identify good practices capable of promoting an assertive and adequate response to their expectations and that the State guarantees them Security, as a constitutionally enshrined right.

The event will take place according to the following agenda:

09H00 – Start of accreditation and reception of guests; 09H30 – Opening ceremony; 10H00 – Beginning of the 1st Panel – Territorial Cohesion vs Security – the importance of defining and implementing Public Policies; 11H30 – Coffee break; 11H45 – Beginning of the 2nd Panel – The role of regional and local entities in the security of cross-border and low-density territories; 13H15 – Lunch; 14H30 – Start of the 3rd Panel – Community policing projects and programs being developed by the Security Forces in cross-border and low-density territories; 16H00 – Presentation of the main conclusions; 16H15 – Closing Ceremony.
