GNR: Operation “Security Hermes-Travel "-5.ª phase takes place this weekend week.
GNR tightens security on Portuguese roads to support holidaymakers this weekend week with the 5th phase of Operation “Security Hermes-Travel”.
A Guarda Nacional Republicana (GNR) intensifies between today and tomorrow( Sunday-August 28), the actions of patrol and support for Holidaymakers, in order to ensure their safety on the routes most used and for vacation spots.
Given the fires that are recorded in Portugal power will be verify some constraints on roads, whereby the conductive GNR advises:
– Before starting the trip, see all the information about the state of the roads, in order to verify if there is any embarrassment. GNR provides this information in the SOS Transit line – 808 201 855 or on their official Facebook page: www.facebook.com/GuardaNacionalRepublicana;
– If cuts are recorded roads, look for alternatives to follow to the places of destination. If no alternative, choose not start driving until they are lifting all constraints;
– Be patient with all necessaries, especially when transporting children, in case it is retained for some time in traffic because of road sections;
– Follow all instructions given by the authorities and be patient in the event of being trapped in traffic. Your safety is our priority.
During the trip even advise:
· Perform regular breaks, at least 15 minutes, every two hours of driving;
· Do not drink alcoholic beverages;
· Observe speed limits;
· Use of safety belts in all car seats, with special attention to the transportation of children should always be done with the proper child restraint system;
· Do not use the phone while driving, or perform activities that divert your attention from the road.
