Operation Imperfectus, leads to the seizure of 46 kg of hashish and 21 arrested in dismantling drug trafficking network.
The Territorial Command Évora, through the Criminal Investigation Nucleus (NIC) Évora, in the early hours of the day 26 January, dismantled a drug trafficking network and stopped 21 people, aged between 19 and 35 year old, in the districts of Beja, Mértola, Portel and Viana do Alentejo.
As part of an investigation into drug trafficking, which has been running since December 2019, the military of the Guard carried out several police investigations that made it possible to determine that the suspects were acting in an organized and hierarchical manner., selling the narcotic product to other individuals who were also involved in trafficking, as well as consumers, causing alarmism and a feeling of insecurity among the population.
Following the investigation steps, It has been complied with 35 search warrants, 16 home, one in establishment and 18 vehicles, culminating in the arrest of 18 suspects and with the dismantling of an organized drug trafficking network, which operated in several locations in the municipality of Beja, Évora and Lisbon.
In the course of these investigations, the following material was also seized:: 92 000 doses of hashish (about 46kg), a ballistic vest, nine vehicles, One Nitrous Oxide Gas Canister and Two Firearms
In addition to the 18 suspects detained, The Guard's soldiers also arrested three men in the act for trafficking in narcotics, who were associated with this investigation..
Detainees, six of whom with criminal records for offenses of the same nature, will be present tomorrow, day 27 January, to the Judicial Court of Évora for the application of coercive measures.
The operation counted on the reinforcement of the Criminal Investigation structure (IC) of the Territorial Command of Évora and Beja, Detachment of Intervention (OF) of Évora and Beja and of the Territorial Detachments of the Territorial Command of Beja, involving a total of 64 Military. The operation also had the support of the Public Security Police. (PSP) and with the collaboration of the 1st and 2nd Sections of the DIAP of Évora.
