In order to reduce the flow of patients in the Medical-Surgical Emergency Service of Hospital José Joaquim Fernandes – Beja, the Board of Directors organized an integrated response by the end of January.
The Local Health Unit of the Lower Alentejo (ULSBA), issued a statement justifying that considering the period of high incidence of respiratory infections that we are currently experiencing and the pressure that is felt in the Medical-Surgical Emergency Service of Hospital José Joaquim Fernandes – Beja, users/patients within the ULSBA coverage area are requested to, EPE that, in case of illness, contact Health 24 (808 242 424) or the 112 in case of emergency for better routing, avoiding direct recourse to the Hospital Emergency Service.

Next weekends until the end of January 2024 (Saturday and Sunday), the open consultation regime for acute illness will be operating, both at the Beja Health Center (Rua D. Jose do Patrocinio Dias, 7800-053 Beja), as in the Alfa Beja Family Health Unit (Rua Rainha D. Amelia, 7800-528 Beja), in the period from 8 am to 20 hours, for the entire population of the ULSBA coverage area, regardless of area of residence.
They will also be open, in open consultation for acute illness, the following ULSBA Health Units, TERM: Aljustrel Health Center, the 8 am to 13 hours, Almodôvar Health Center, the 8 am to 13 hours, Cuban Health Center, Saturdays 8 am to 20 hours and Sundays of 8 am to 14 hours, Ferreira do Alentejo Health Center, the 8 am to 13 hours, Mértola Health Center, the 9 am to 15 hours and Ourique Health Center, the 8 am to 13 hours
The emergency services at Hospital José Joaquim Fernandes, Beja, and the Moura and Castro Verde SUBs will be fully operational and without any restrictions 24 hours a day.
