The decision comes after another accident, the third, that has to be investigated. All drones were at the Air Base 11, in Beja.
The Air Force has suspended flights of all surveillance and fire detection drones. The decision was taken after an accident with one of these unmanned aircraft.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces, the drone in question crashed on Wednesday, in the early evening at a time when he was preparing to land, a 8 kilometers from the Beja air base, in an uninhabited area, almost two hours after taking off.
The damage to the drone was structural, but there were no victims on land or damage to third parties.
The Armed Forces announce, in a statement, who have already started an investigation and all fire detection drone operations are suspended across the country until it is clear what happened.
In a time of high fire risk like the days ahead, Air Force drones that carry out this surveillance will be replaced by manned aircraft.
Altogether, the State bought, in July 2020, 12 drones to detect fires, in a business by direct adjustment in the value of 4,5 million. In the space of a year, this was the third accident involving these drones.
