The Beja Polytechnic Institute reached 2024 an important milestone in the history of your scientific investigation.
According to the international scopus database, the number of scientific publications associated with IPBEJA has reached a total of 126 Publications in 2024, highlighting the areas of social sciences (13,6%), Health (9,8%), Agriculture and Biology (9,1%) and computer science (8,7%).
These data also reflect the diversity and balance of scientific production in the four schools that make up IPBEJA, demonstrating a uniform presence of the research activity in all of them.
Along the quadrennium 2021-2024, were registered at Scopus 491 scientific documents, which represents a significant increase in 73% in relation to the previous period (2017-2020), in which they were accounted for 284 documents. This advance reflects the commitment of IPBEJA and its teachers to promote research and scientific development as strategic pillars of their mission.
Among the recent initiatives are the dissemination of the works classified as Q1 at Scopus and the approval of new regulations of “support for scientific activity†and “support for the realization of scientific eventsâ€, that will reinforce support for the investigation of teachers. parallel, IPBEJA has been betting on the creation of management units for research centers evaluated by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) and promoting the integration of students in research projects, encouraging the increase in scientific publication.
In 2025, IPBeja will begin implementing the master plan (master plan) for the agricultural infrastructure of Outeiro, an ambitious medium-term project that aims to transform this area into a European center of excellence dedicated to research into the agriculture of the future. This project reaffirms IPBeja's commitment to promoting research and development of sustainable solutions to face global challenges in the agricultural sector.
The results achieved in the last four years demonstrate the consistent growth of IPBeja as a higher education institution focused on scientific innovation, in sustainable development and training excellence. Through a strategic vision and continuous investment in research, IPBeja will continue to assert itself as an engine of knowledge and progress, both in the Alentejo region and on the national scene.
