Na dawn 21 October 2013, a Monday, glass was broken and interiors were destroyed 19 vehicles in the IPBeja Campus space. Ten years later, the perpetrators of the crimes still remain to be discovered..
On the morning of the fateful day, in full IPBeja, the president of the institute, Vito Carioca (front in the photo) claimed to be “pure vandalism”, while the PSP District Commander, superintendent Viola da Silva (back to back photo), labeled it as “an unprecedented case in Beja” and here they stayed.
There are questions that ten years later remain unanswered, but what is important to do: Who is interested in the case being closed and the truth not being discovered? ? Who at IPBeja was not interested in finding out the truth ? Who at PSP Beja was not interested in finding out the truth ?
These were questions that for a decade never had answers, not even with the change of presidents at IPBeja and commanders at PSP.
Everything has happened after 06.30 hours, at which point there was a police patrol on site and everything was within the normal range, that an unidentified group of individuals entered the facility, that had no video surveillance system, and destroyed the windows and interiors of 19 Car.
The surveillance / security service that was being carried out by a police officer, and which was previously the responsibility of a private company whose contract, at the discretion of the Polytechnic, had been stopped several months before, and which coincidentally ended on the same day that the vehicles were vandalized.
Which was also never explained by the PSP, what is the reason why a service that should be provided by a graduate and an agent, will only be guaranteed by an agent, whose paid service value was the lowest.
It was with the sunrise and the first people entering the University Campus that the vandalized vehicles were discovered. Between the 17 vehicles that were on Campus, there was the IPBeja president's service jeep, that had the GPS device that was not taken nor damaged.
Two cars that were at the Escola Superior de SaĂşde, off campus premises, were also destroyed.
The president of IPBeja immediately ruled out any motivation based on dismissals that occurred at that time at the institution. "Only four employment contracts have not been renegotiated", said.
In turn, superintendent Viola da Silva pointed to the suspicion that “it could be a message for someone at the institution”.
Taking advantage of the words of the PSP commander, It is important to remember the coincidence that on the day the vehicles were vandalized, It was the end date of the surveillance company's contract.
On site were several elements of the PSP Investigation Squad in Beja, which was commanded by subintendent Maria do CĂ©u Viola da Silva, commander's wife, but no clue was validated that could lead to the perpetrators of the crimes.
