The Beja Polytechnic Institute announced its participation in the Heroes Alliance, an innovative initiative that unites nine higher education institutions oriented for practical education and applied research.
Launched 21 of January from Thomas More University, This Pan-European consortium aims to strengthen regions through intelligent and digital innovation, counting on 120.000 students and 14.000 employees spread throughout 22 Campus in nine countries. In this world in constant change, The Heroes Alliance, whose full name is ‘Higher Education for Resilience-Oriented and Empowered Societies’ (Higher education for resilient and empowered societies), was approved by the European Commission in July 2024 and officially started with the new year. The president of Heroes and Director of Innovation and Internationalization at Thomas More: Sofie Mols, stresses the importance of this collaboration:
“Together, We are ready to face the challenges of the future. Heroes is not just a network; It is a movement that promotes innovation in critical areas such as climate change, digital health and sustainable agriculture. We are raising the needs and knowledge of the European regions.”
Between the days 21 and 23 January, more than 100 employees of all partner institutions, including the Beja Polytechnic Institute, gather at the Thomas More University campus in Geel to develop the implementation of this ambitious project.
