IPBeja: Organizes the National University Outdoor Track Championship, in Beja.

Framed in the activity plan of the Sports Activity Support Office (GAD) of IPBeja Social Action Services and within the scope of the Healthy Campus project, IPBeja applied to organize university sporting events in the academic year 2023/24.

The Academic Federation of University Sports (FALL), maximum entity responsible for University Sports in Portugal, attributed to IPBeja, the responsibility of the local organization of the National University Championship (CNU) Outdoor Track Athletics – male Female.

As provas, integrated into the CNU Athletics program, take place at the Fernando Mamede Sports Complex – Athletics track, on days 25 and 26 May 2024. The Beja City Council and the Beja Athletics Association, are fundamental partners in logistical support for the organization of the CNU Athletics.

It should be noted that this is the second time that the CNU Athletics is held in Beja. IPBeja as local organizer and FADU as main organizer expect the participation of more than 300 student-athletes from Higher Education institutions in the country.

In the history of IPBeja's participation in the Athletics CNU, our student-athletes have already achieved 3 medals. Sara Inácio, Degree in Nursing at the Higher School of Health (EU), won two medals, was national university runner-up (talk) dos 1500m, at the Lisbon University Stadium in 2017/18, and won the Bronze medal again, but at the CNU of Pista Coberta. Recently, in 2022/23, Mariana Tavares (EU), to attend the Degree in Occupational Therapy, won the silver medal, no CNU of Pista Coberta – 60 Flat meters.

Curiosity: in the first year that the CNU Athletics was held at the Fernando Mamede Athletics Track, they were beaten 7 national records. In 2024, how many national records will be broken? IPBeja invites everyone to be present, on days 25 and 26 May, where all roads lead to the Fernando Mamede Sports Complex – Athletics track
