Morning 23 April the Saramago Library Network signs partnership memorandum within the scope of José Saramago's Centenary Celebrations.
On 23 April at 11:30 am, World Book Day, at the José Saramago Foundation, the Memorandum of Understanding will be signed between the Saramago Library Network and the Saramago Foundation, in the context of the Centenary celebrations of the birth of José Saramago, thus constituting themselves as partners for these celebrations.
The Centenary celebrations of the birth of José Saramago, will start, a 19 November 2021 (José Saramago's birth day) and will run until the end of the year 2022 (year in which the writer would celebrate 100 year old).
The Saramago Library Network, was created at the initiative of the Municipality of Beja, through your Library, having been formally constituted the 22 March 2019 and counts as founding members the Avis Libraries, Beja, Feijó (Almada), Polytechnic Institute of Leiria, Loures, Odemira and the José Saramago Foundation. The Libraries of Montemor-o-Novo and Figueira de Castelo Rodrigo are in the adherence phase.
The document signing ceremony, open to the public, will have the presence of the Municipality of Beja, whose library is the coordinator of the Saramago Library Network, as, representatives of the entities involved.
