Justice: Caught almost 47 thousand doses of hashish were sentenced to prison.

Three individuals, two Spaniards and one Portuguese, aged between 20 and 29 year old, which had been caught with about 47 thousand doses of hashish, were sentenced to prison terms among the 5 years and 6 months and 6 years and 6 months.

The case occurred in 21 July last year when JoĂŁo Bogalho, Larbi Macias and Santi Rodriguez, They were arrested in IC1, in Village of Haystacks, in Ourique county, by military personnel Criminal Investigation Unit (NIC) the Aljustrel when GNR, when they were heading from Spain to Lisbon, in two light passenger vehicles and in one of them, Spanish license plate followed the drug.

In preventive detention since that date, the three men heard last Friday, in the Court of Beja the reading of the ruling that sentenced them to effective imprisonment, with the President of the Panel of Judges justifying that “two accused admitted the facts and the third did not speak, but the statements of the soldiers involved in the operation were credible and proved the facts of the accusation”, adding that the version of one of the Spanish defendants about his companion “was denied by the defense lawyer herself when comparing the messages exchanged between the two”, concluded.

The judge argued that the court made a distinction between the degree of culpability between each of the defendants: “John, condenado a 6 years and 6 months in prison, If it weren't for the dobo of the business, it would be very close to the investment made, Larbi, sentenced to 6 year old, used his mother's car to transport the drugs and Santi, punished 5 years and 6 months, helped ensure that the product reached its destination”, finished.

When approached by GNR, John, the Portuguese citizen, drove a Mercedes, who played “scout”, and the Spaniards Larbi and Santi, they were traveling in a Seat Ibiza where the drugs were, The investigation later discovered that there was a third car involved in the transport, a BMW that belonged to the Portuguese defendant.

Given the dangerousness of the three individuals, the GNR reinforced the operation with operatives from the Traffic and Investigation Detachments of the Beja Territorial Command (CTBeja) and the Information and Criminal Investigation Section of CTBeja and CTFaro.
