The Public Ministry (MP) de Beja accused a man of 51 year old, of 12.248 under pornography crimes, 7 of which aggravated and 6 crimes of sexual abuse of children, a process that began to be investigated in April 2019 in Lisbon and led to the suspect's arrest two years later in Beja.
The MP believes that since the 18 years that João Paulo Silva dedicated himself to collecting and disseminating photographs and videos of young people of both sexes, mostly with children under 14 year old, being seen as a person with a distorted personality and an uncontrollable sexual disorder.
Along 2020 the individual created a page on the social network “Instagram†where he pretended to be a minor, where he held conversations and enticed young people, all minors, to align in your lewd purposes.
The individual was responsible for a gas station in the lower Alentejo city and a football coach in the training area., having been detained by the Judiciary Police (PJ) through the Faro Board on the day 11 of May of last year and placed in preventive detention. Fulfilling search warrants for your residence, PJ learned dozens of hard drives, CD ’s, USBs and cell phones containing thousands of photographs and videos of minors in sexual possession.
At the time of his arrest, João Paulo Silva was attending the Level Trainers Course 2 given by the Beja Football Association and in the 13 May 2021 his absence was surprised and that's when the first conversations about the individual's detention arose.
Living in Beja since the beginning of 2020, through the clubs he passed by, the last one had been Sporting Ferreirense, in Ferreira do Alentejo, the individual has never raised suspicions of any unlawful conduct with minors.

On his facebook page the individual reported his resume, having gone through clubs, like the G.D.Estoril-Praia (1999 a 2006), S.C.Lourel (2006 a 2012), G.F.Os Montelavarenses (2012 a 2013), S.U.1º de Dezembro (2013 a 2017), A.C.Alcacerense (2018 a 2019) and S.C.Ferreirense de Ferreira do Alentejo (2019 a 2020), always working with young people 8/9 years and 14/15 year old.
Operation "Spring"
On the same day in Beja, the PJ detained an individual of 25 year old, who would act in collusion with the older individual, that would have ascended on him. Investigators believe he would be the youngest defendant to create profiles on social media., who will be tried in an attached case.
The two defendants were arrested by the PJ and appeared in court the following day., when they were ordered to pre-trial detention awaiting trial at the Beja Prison.
