For the first time, the CDU failed to elect deputies in Beja, district where the three mandates were distributed by PS, Enough and AD. The PS won in the fourteen municipalities of the district but lost 12%.
Os comunistas deixam assim de ter representação parlamentar no distrito, onde foram a quarta força polÃtica. É a primeira vez em 50 anos de democracia. Foi eleito, PS hair, Nelson Brito, Diva Nélia Ribeiro pelo Chega e Gonçalo Valente pela AD.
A Esquerda tem a maioria no distrito de Beja conjugando as percentagens do PS (31,70%) e da CDU (15,03%) conseguiram 46,73%, against 38,29% Enough (21,55%) e da AD (16,74%).
In November 2004, numa entrevista ao Jornal de NotÃcias (JN), o então militante do PCP e presidente da Câmara Municipal de Beja, Carreira Marques disse: “PCP está em entrar num gueto. O partido caminha para um patamar penoso, caminha para a morte. Vai-se de vitória em vitória até à derrota finalâ€. Vinte anos depois da entrevista, cumpriu-se a premonição do antigo deputado comunista da Assembleia Constituinte.
