The Educational Charter of the Municipality of Mértola was unanimously approved in the last Municipal Assembly.
The educational charter is, at municipal level, the instrument for planning and prospective ordering of buildings and educational equipment in municipalities, as well as, the guiding document on educational policies aimed at reducing early school leaving, to promote educational success, for the provision of complementary educational activities and for the development of school sports.
The review process of the Educational Charter of Mértola was part of the project to prepare the Strategic Educational Plan for Baixo Alentejo (PEEBA) and review of the Educational Letters coordinated by CIMBAL, which had the assistance of a technical team from CIES-ISCTE and the active participation of the Municipal Education Council of Mértola.
