Municipality of Mértola issued information to the population which reveals the measures to be implemented by the Local Health Unit of Baixo Alentejo (ULSBA) at the local health center.
The measures to be implemented are the result of the recent meeting with the Secretary of State for Health, Dr. Ricardo Mestre and the President of the Municipality of Mértola Dr.. Mario Tome and, posteriori, result of a solid process of articulation with the Local Health Unit of Baixo Alentejo, in the person of the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Dr. José Carlos Queimado.
According to the municipality led by Mário Tomé, the following allocations will be promoted: a doctor to the São Domingos Mine Health Extension, thus ensuring the immediate restoration of the normal functioning of this Health Extension and immediately a doctor to the Mértola Health Center, part-time, with the consequent strengthening of the overall response at the Health Center.
The City also revealed that “as of next october, Mértola Health Center will count on the contribution of two more doctors, part-time, which will allow consolidating the response of primary health care in the municipality of Mértola to the health needs of the population”.
according to the City Hall “ULSBA is committed to the continuous improvement of primary health care in the municipality of Mértola, in particular, in the search for solutions that guarantee the allocation of a family doctor to all users in the shortest possible time, relying for this purpose on the invaluable contribution of the Municipality of Mértola”, justified.
