The Municipal Library of Mértola develops, annually, a reading promotion project and writing involving all primary schools and kindergartens. Monthly, between January and June, Library technical visit schools, taking with them the magic of stories.
Creating and strengthening reading habits, as personal and social development factor is the main objective of these actions, promoting, at the same time, writing as stimulating narrative creativity and reflection on the world in which we move.
In 2018, They will be worked on the stories of our land, in an effort to dissemination and exploitation of collections held in the county, under various projects.
This work has, since its inception, with the close involvement and collaboration of teachers and educators, which have proven crucial to the success of the initiative.
Integrated in the Municipal Plan to Combat School Failure in Mértola county, this project will count in this and the next two years with funding from the Regional Operational Program of the Alentejo: integrated plans and Innovators Combating School Failure, which will allow you a new lease of life.
