With this new vehicle, the Mértola Fire Brigade fleet now has two well-equipped rescue ambulances, in addition to the INEM vehicle, that make the corporation better equipped to support the community.
Jorge Santos, the commander of the corporation justified that "it is without a doubt a vehicle that will make all the difference in pre-hospital assistance", concluded.
In the last week of September, the corporation received a new vehicle dedicated to the transport of non-urgent patients (VDTD), which had a cost of 28.044 euros, having the BVM supported 16.069,16 euros and the rest 11.974,84 euros by the Municipality of Mértola, thanks to a protocol signed between the two institutions..
In the middle of last August, the BVM received a Tactical Command Vehicle (VCOT), that was the target of a transformation of adaptation to the function, which cost more than 38 thousand euros, fully supported by the Municipality.
Including the VDTD, in two years the Fire Department received four vehicles from the municipality, at a value around the 140 thousand euros.
