One serious wounded and two light ones, was the result of a collision involving three vehicles, two passenger cars and one light goods, happened this wednesday afternoon, near Penedos, municipality of Mértola.
The accident occurred at about 16,28 hours on the Municipal Road (IN) 506, and it seems to have resulted from a miscalculated overtaking of one of the passenger cars to the goods, ending up in an original frontal collision with another passenger vehicle that was traveling in the opposite direction.
The collision resulted in serious injuries to the driver of one of the vehicles that was transported to Faro Hospital in an INEM helicopter parked in Loulé, who landed in full EM506.
Relief effort were 16 operational of the Mértola's Volunteer Firefighters supported by 6 Car, the GNR with a vehicle and 2 Military, the immediate support of car life (SIV) de Castro Verde and the INEM helicopter with 4 operational.
