Mértola: County will be a pilot project Life Adaptate.
The project Life Adaptate, in the Municipality of Mértola is one of the partners, was approved. The creation of “shaded areas”, with the integration of renewable energy generation, are some of the project actions.
The territory of the municipality was chosen to receive the pilot project in implementing sustainable methodologies in the area of energy and climate change.
The main objective of the project is to contribute to the improvement of climate policy and legislation at the local level of the European Union, specifically as regards the process of designing and implementing local adaptation policies.
Partners of Life Adaptate project six municipalities, two Portuguese, including Mértola, in three countries (Latvia, Portugal and Spain). This will last approximately 49 months, starting in September this year and an investment that exceeds 300 thousand euros.
The pilot project to develop in Mértola integrates among other innovative actions, the creation of “shaded areas”, with the integration of renewable energy generation.
