The Montícola Association in partnership with Kitchen Dates – Zero waste restaurant, promotes, on 28 Feb., carrying out a training action to combat food waste.
Avoiding waste should be a consensual community cause. Food waste is a growing concern in the world, especially in a context where there is more than 800 Millions of people around the world in a state of malnutrition. This is a problem that is not only at the level of consumption, but at all stages of the food life cycle (harvest, production, distribution and in our own homes), where huge amount of food are rejected.
When we lay food for the garbage, either because it passed its validity period, either because they left on the plate, We are not just wasting the money that paid for them, but also to waste all the resources that these same foods have already absorbed to reach our table.
It fits us, because, To all fight the food waste. And it all starts by being aware of the problem and trying to change some daily habits and routines.
The activity will take place in online format, Beginning at 10am and lasting 3h and has as a priority audience the local restoration agents and other food sectors. Registration is free, mandatory and limited to 10 vacancies.
This initiative developed by the Montelary Association is part of the Mértola Food Network.
