There are two positive cases at Monte Gato, São Miguel do Pinheiro, who join the two from Monte dos Alves, Santana de Cambas. Tests on the rest of the population were negative.In a statement, the Municipality of Mértola, clarifies that “following the identification of the two positive cases of COVID-19 in Monte dos Alves, the Municipality of Mértola hereby comes, inform that all tests performed on the population of that location had a negative result.
However, adds the local authority, two positive cases were detected in Monte Gato residents, S. Miguel Pinheiro. Public health authorities are investigating possible contacts and contamination channels to identify situations of greater risk. All persons considered at maximum risk will be tested”.
The council reveals that “the origin of the contagions is still being investigated and that is why we call for the population's understanding of the people already identified”.
Because unfortunately no one is immune and anyone can get the virus, regardless of the genus, age, profession, place of origin or any other characteristic, the municipality recalls that this must be a moment of understanding, solidarity and mutual aid.
