The City Council promoted in Mértola, A preparatory meeting of the third phase of the dredging of the River Guadiana, the national section, between Pomarão and Mértola.
After the agreement signed last November, between the Ministry of the Sea, a DGRM – Direction–General Natural Resources, Security and Maritime Services and the Municipality of Mértola, this meeting marks the beginning of the process that will allow navigation to the village of Mértola.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Municipal Councils Mértola, Alcoutim, Castro Marim and Vila Real de Santo António, da APA- Portuguese Environment Agency, yes CCDR – Coordination Commission of the Alentejo Region, da DGRM, Hydrographic Institute do, do ICNF – Institute for Nature Conservation and Forestry and the Assistant Secretary of State for Fisheries.
