Under the III Mértola Hunting Days, will take place next day 25 June, 10h00, the public session of presentation of the chair “hunting and biodiversity”, at Mértola Biological Station (EBM).
The ceremony is held at the renewed EBM building, Situated on the Enterprise Road, Beyond-Rio, in Mértola, and will be attended by the founding entities, institutional partners, Researchers, representatives of the hunting and civil society sector.
The chair “hunting and biodiversity” is promoted by a consortium that brings together public and private entities with a strong connection to the territory, to the science and conservation of nature: Bondalti Chemicals, S.A.; VALE DE PERITOS AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY; ANPC - National Association of Rural Owners; Cinegetics and Biodiversity Management; Agricultural Society of Brava - Agriculture, Livestock and Tourism, S.A.; Municipality of Mértola and Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT).
The scientific responsibility of the chair is in charge of the University of Porto, through Cibio/Biopolis - Biodiversity Research Center and Genetic Resources, in close collaboration with the Mértola Biological Station (EBM).
This new chair aims to affirm itself as a pole of excellence in the investigation, Promotion and dissemination of good practices in the scope of movie management and conservation of biodiversity, reinforcing the bonds between science, society and territory.
This event appears inserted on the June Hunt Day, as an alternative to the trip to the Hunting Fair in France, initially provided for in the Days Program, but postponed for logistical reasons.
