Mértola: Parish honors the Guadiana river fishermen.
The Parish of Mértola will honor the Guadiana river fishermen, in Mértola, no Saturday, 23 Feb., beginning at 11h, the building of Mértola Parish Council.
This award aims to safeguard in time and memory the importance of traditional fishing in the Guadiana River, and thank all the fishermen who made this art their life, promoting an activity that is part of the historical and cultural heritage of Mértola and its municipality.
The outside of the building will be exposed a fishing boat "Pateira Guadiana". The Guadiana Pateira is the vessel that is associated with the Professional Guadiana River fishing.
