A man of 73 years old was found yesterday without life inside a well in an agricultural land in Monte Novo do Navio, in the Union of Parishes of São Miguel do Pinheiro, São Pedro de Solis and San Sebastian of Cars, municipality of Mértola, found the Lidador News (LN) next to the local fire station.
It was the residents of Mt., located at the extreme between the municipalities of Mértola and Almodôvar, who realized the neighbor was missing and alerted the authorities. According to information from the Public Relations Office of the Beja Territorial Command of the GNR, “Criminal Investigation soldiers were at the scene and did not detect any marks on the victim’s body that could indicate homicide.. However, only after the autopsy can it be confirmed that it may have been voluntary drowning, otherwise, an investigation will be opened to determine the causes”, justified our source.
On site were 15 Mértola Volunteer Firefighters emergency and resuscitation medical vehicle (VMER) do Hospital de Beja e GNR, supported by 6 Car.
It was just after 01:00 this Thursday when the victim's body was transported to the Legal Medical Office of Beja where it will be autopsied.
