The inauguration ceremony of the São Miguel do Pinheiro Home, Located in the Union of Parishes of São Miguel do Pinheiro, São Pedro de Solis and Sao Sebastiao dos Carros, in the Mértola municipality, will take place today, by 16:30.
The initiative marks the completion of a structuring social investment, that proposes to respond to the needs of the senior population of the right bank of the county, especially to citizens in a situation of greater vulnerability.
With a global investment of 6.843.524,00 €, co -financed by Alentejo 2020, Portugal 2020 and the European Union, This new infrastructure translates a significant effort on the promotion of social and territorial cohesion, as well as in improving the living conditions of the most aged population in the county.
The building, with 2043 m² of total area, offers 39 rooms with capacity for 63 users, with canteen, areas of occupational therapies, interior and outer social spaces, Medical Office and Snoezelen Room.
Beyond the direct impact on the quality of life of users and their families, This infrastructure will generate 45 direct jobs, representing an important opportunity for qualified employment within and economic and social valorization of the region.
The process of formation of the future technical team is underway, focusing on providing personalized care, support for people with dementia or disabilities and promoting active and healthy aging.
Lar de São Miguel do Pinheiro is a concrete example of the commitment of the Municipality of Mértola to create a more inclusive territory, sustainable and attentive to the real needs of its population.
