Mértola: Minister of Culture visit Tuesday “Village Museum”.
The Culture Minister, Luis Filipe Castro Mendes, visit to Mértola village the next day 6 March, in order to meet with local authorities and to know the cultural heritage.
The program of the visit, which will begin at 11 hours, It includes a meeting with the Mayor, Jorge Rosa, the Regional Director of the Cultural Heritage, Ana Paula Amendoeira, the General Director of Cultural Heritage, Paula Silva, and the director of the Archaeological Mértola, Claudio Torres.
There then follows a visit to some monuments of the village museum, namely the Castle, the Mother Church, the Alcazaba and the replica of an Islamic house, and the visit to the Pink House, where statues have recently been found from the Roman period.
