Mértola: Municipality hosts Iberian Congress of Science Applied to Hunting Resources.


Of 17 a 20 of September, Mértola will host the Iberian Congress of Science Applied to Hunting Resources (CICARC), which is included in the Hunting Journeys program 2024.

This is the 7th initiative of the II edition of the Hunting Days, which has been an event that has established itself as a space for debate and innovation in the hunting sector.

The Municipality of Mértola announced that the second edition of the Iberian Congress of Science Applied to Hunting Resources (CICARC), which will take place between 17 and 20 of September, in Mértola, over 90 participants already confirmed.

Or CICARC, whose first edition took place in Ciudad Real (Spain) in 2019, is a meeting that arises from the need to discuss the research on hunting species that is carried out in the Iberian Peninsula and to transmit the relevant results and conclusions to society.

CICARC aims to be a platform for disseminating updated scientific information and serving as a discussion forum that allows, through research and appropriate knowledge transfer, propose solutions to environmental challenges, health, genetic, technological and socioeconomic challenges that the hunting sector faces today, as well as those that are expected to be addressed in the future.

On Thursday, day 19, from 14.00, CICARC opens its doors to the community interested in these themes (hunters, hunting managers, others…). In addition to presentations on some hunting species,, at 16:00 all the conclusions that took place during the last days of the event will be discussed. At that time, the hunting community (hunters, hunting managers, others) will be able to ask any questions about the conclusions drawn in an informal way.

This event is organized by EBM (Mértola Biological Station) and the Mértola City Council, which has partners IREC, Biopolis e CIBIO.
