The Municipality of Mértola announces the holding of the third edition of the Hunting Days, that will take place between February and October 2025. This year, The 3rd edition will tell, for the first time, with 9 journeys, two more than the 1st edition, result of feedback received from previous editions.
This event, consolidated as already a milestone in the national cinegnetic sector, aims to reinforce the identity of the territory, promote the sustainability of the activity and foster dialogue between the various interveners.
This third edition maintains the format, With an initiative per month, starting in February and ending in October with the hunting fair. The particularities and details detailed (dates, schedule, sites, others) of each journey, They are disclosed in time, in our communication channels.
As in previous editions, The initiative will have a diverse programming, covering hunters, cinegetical managers and all interested in the rural world and in the conservation of biodiversity. Days include formations, meetings, exhibitions, hunted, workshop’s, thematic trips and practical experiences, promoting greater interaction and knowledge about the cinegetics.
Among the scheduled actions, The Day of February stands out, a Women's Mount. This is an annual event, usually held in the northern region of the country, but this year in close collaboration with the Portuguese Club of Monteiros and the Alentejo Federation of Hunters, We got it to be done in Mértola, in the national hunting capital.
On the March Day, We will have for the first time the collaboration of the Portuguese Hunting Weapons Federation (FPTAC), where the national coach Custódio Ezequiel, will share some tips and information about shooting techniques.
In April, The Institute of Nature Conservation and Forests, will talk to us what is the situation of the situation of the ibérico in the municipality of Mértola.
May, It is month of specialized hunting formations. We will have 4 Formations in the area of ​​Cinegetics, in partnership with Alsud/Hunting School, Fishing and Nature, Portuguese Caniculture Club (CPC) and National Association of Rural Owners (ANPC).
On the June journey, the Municipality of Mértola, will try to provide a unique and unforgettable experience, in the preparation of all the logistics of a trip to one of the largest and most reputable European hunting fairs-Game Fair Et-et-Cher (France).
In July, We have the already usual journey “We want to be a hunter?", that offers a training administered once again by Alsud/Hunting School, Fishing and Nature, in order to better prepare all the proponents to the exam to obtain the hunter letter.
Throughout the month of August, We will have at Casa das Artes Mário Elias, An exhibition on the biodiversity and fauna of the municipality of Mértola, portrayed in high-defined photographs, actual size sculptures and liveraming of some of our wild fauna.
In September, It's the Hunter Day Journey, one of the most awaited hours by hunters residing in the municipality of Mértola, which includes several hunts and lunch.
And in October, as in previous editions, The 3rd edition of the Hunting Days, end with the XVI Mértola Hunting Fair!
This 3rd edition counts for the first time with 10 Important sector partners, highlighting the credibility and importance of this event for the cinegetic sector. The employees of this 3rd edition are: Hunting school, Fishing and Nature (ECPN), Alsud Professional School, Nature and Forest Conservation Institute (ICNF), Portuguese Club of Monteiros (CPM), Alentejo Federation of Hunters (FAC), Portuguese Hunting Weapons Federation (FPTAC), Portuguese Caniculture Club, National Association of Rural Owners (ANPC) and several hunting areas of the county.
