The Rio Fish Festival is back in the charming village of Pomarão, in Mértola, and this year promises to surprise visitors with a program full of activities, irresistible gastronomy and unmissable concerts.
With the aim of celebrating the region's rich fishing tradition and promoting local culture, the event will take place on the days 23 and 24 March and will feature a variety of attractions for all ages.
This year, visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy: Gastronomic Demonstrations: Local chefs will present delicious dishes, highlighting the authentic flavors of river fish.
Live Concerts: An eclectic selection of musical artists will liven up the festival with live performances, covering a variety of styles ranging from folkloric ranch to Alentejo cante, with main emphasis on the Ana Moura concert, on the evening of day 23 March, accompanied by splendid fireworks over the Guadiana River.
Craft workshops: Exhibitions and demonstrations by local artisans, will immerse visitors in the rich history and traditions of the region, providing an enriching and educational experience.
Outdoor Activities: Sport fishing, Motorbike tours and guided nature walks will offer participants the opportunity to explore the stunning local landscape.
Local producers: A range of regional delicacies, namely the famous black pork sausages, artisanal cheeses, Regional candies, Mértola bread awarded every year as the best in the country, honey and wines from Mértola
