A man died, on this wednesday night, following a collision a kilometer away 125 National Highway 267, in the parish and county of Mértola. The victim was still treated at the scene., but ended up passing away on the way to the hospital.
The victim, of 71 year old, known in Mértola as the “Senhor dos Baldes”, because almost every day I did about 10 kilometers between Monte de Sapos and Mértola and vice versa, bucket in hand, was run over by a passenger vehicle, still received assistance on site, but the death ended up being declared on the way to Beja Hospital.
The accident alert came from 20.36 hours and the road was closed in both directions. There were twelve operational personnel and six vehicles from the Mértola Fire Department at the scene., SIV Castro Verde, VMER of Beja and GNR of Mértola.
The body of “Senhor dos Baldes” was transported to the Beja Legal Medical Office, where it will be autopsied.
