Of 25 a 27 October, the Expo Mértola Multipurpose Pavilion hosts the XV Hunting Fair, an unmissable event that celebrates passion, the hunting tradition, nature and biodiversity.
It's a fight, which has established itself as one of the main players in the sector, aims to promote the region’s tourist and economic potential, attracting enthusiasts and visitors from all over the country.
In editing 2024, Visitors will have the opportunity to participate in several new features, like the Cobro Water Demonstration with Retrievers, the Blood Trail Dog Demonstration, the Pole Pigeon Competition and a fantastic exhibition with high-resolution photographs of species captured in the municipality of Mértola, titled “#FeededByCaçadors”, which aims to highlight the work that hunters do 365 days a year for biodiversity
The XV Hunting Fair will also have new features in the organization of the outdoor park, which will have a larger lake, providing an even more impressive space for visitors to observe some aquatic fauna and demonstrations with hunting dog breeds. These initiatives promise to enrich the event, offering moments of great interest for all hunting and nature enthusiasts.
Visitors will therefore be able to explore various exhibitions, which include live fauna, big game packs, vehicles 4×4, an ecosystem recreated with recycled materials among many other activities and animations.
The hunting activity demonstration park will also include target shooting with a bow and crossbow, a demonstration of rabbit dogs and the now traditional demonstration with falcons.
During the three days of the fair, several hunting days will be available, like the Jump Hunting Championship, at Prova de Santo Huberto, small game drops and two large game mounts.
For nature lovers, Activities such as BirdWatching and fauna and flora observation routes in hunting territories complement the program, allowing an enriching experience in contact with the region’s natural wealth.
Additionally, All visitors will have the opportunity to be in with a chance of winning dozens of hunting-related prizes, All you need to do is purchase an entrance ticket via 1 euro.
According to the Municipality, “the XV Mértola Hunting Fair promises to be a memorable edition, with activities and attractions for all tastes”, adding that the full program will be released soon.
