Minerals: UAE company wants to do exploration in the Alentejo.
They were last published in “Gazette” the requirements of Matsa Mubadala & Trafigura Company for the exploration of minerals in nine municipalities of the Alentejo, among which is the Beja.
A Matsa In badala & Trafigura Company, UAE company (WATER), asked the Directorate-General for Energy and Geology (DGEG) licenses for the exploration of minerals in the Alentejo.
According to a notice published Monday in the Official Gazette, a company “required the allocation of prospecting rights and copper mineral deposits research, lead, zinc, gold, talk, iron and metals associated, in an area called “Portel”, located in the municipalities of Portel, Vidigueira, Serpa, Beja, Cuba, Alvito and Viana do Alentejo”. The total area of application: 491,338 km2.
A second notice states that the same company “required the allocation of prospecting rights and search for mineral deposits of gold, copper, lead, zinc, silver and metals associated, in an area called “Santiago”, located in the municipalities of Santiago do Cacém and Grândola”. The total area of application: 467,376 km2
In either case, stakeholders have 30 days to file complaints either grounded or contract proposals.
