Monsaraz: Exhibition "Imaginarius" features paintings with the colors of the Alentejo.


The first exhibition of Helena Correia entitled "Imaginarius" is open until 30 September in the House of Monsaraz, in the medieval village of Monsaraz.

This exhibition of pictures painted with mixed media in oil and acrylic can be enjoyed daily between 9.30am and 12.30pm and from 14h to 18h and integrates the cycle of exhibitions Monsaraz Open Museum, which is organized by the Municipality of Reguengos de Monsaraz.

The author says that "very early" started "in the art world as a self-taught" and obtained training in a Refresher Course in Visual Arts certificate by the Regional Directorate of Education Alentejo.

Helena Correia uses as a source of inspiration to contemplate the typical colors of the Alentejo, as earth brown, the blue sky, yellow, orange and red sunset, white houses and the Golden ears.

The artist believes that "his work calls out of the materialistic conceptions of the world and to roam the world of the cultivated imagination of color and movement, that elevates us to the world of ideas and creativity ". Helena Correia was born in Paco de Arcos in 1959 and resides in Reguengos de Monsaraz from 1980.
