Moura: Reformed GNR tried for attempted murder.


A former soldier in the Republican National Guard (GNR), resident in Moura, was tried in the Central Criminal Court of Beja, accused of the crimes of qualified homicide in the attempted form and of aggravated threat.

The accused, of 61 year old, will not have gladly accepted that the woman with whom he has a relationship, wanted to finish the same.

On 19 December 2018, after drinking alcohol, the retired GNR military, went to the woman's house, Serpa, in order to talk to that, what he didn't get after the interference of one of the children.

After having threatened death son, mom and dad, who had not lived maritally with his wife for over a year, Francisco R. opened a knife he was carrying and stabbed Vicente who stepped in front of his mother. The victim was hit in the chest, which gave him a puncture in his left lung and left him at death's door.

In court, the defendant presented a version of the facts very different from the one he had reported during the interrogation phase, which led to that Vítor Maneta, president of the Collective of Judges, had repeatedly called attention to “an incoherent version, with many contradictions ”. The situation was so caricaturing that even the defense lawyer was disgusted "by the version of the facts told in court" and after an interruption to speak with the accused he refused to ask any question to his client.

The victim's father, who became an assistant in the process said he did not know "any relationship between the woman and the individual", justifying “not knowing it”, finished. Turn, the woman admitted knowing the defendant, denying any relationship with the same. The way in which he answered the questions of the Public Prosecutor and the defendant's defense lawyer, led the Coletivo president to warn the woman that: “There is unwillingness to answer questions. There has to be some justification for you to show up at your home ”, shot the magistrate. The son's lawyer, refused that the mother's statements, during the investigation phase were recovered to confront those promoted in court.

In the second session the witnesses were heard and the final allegations were produced, the reading of the judgment was scheduled for the next day 21 of December.
