Moura: On the International Day for Monuments and Sites, "The site goes to School".
The Municipality of Moura marks the International Day for Monuments and Sites (DIMS), celebrated 18 April, with the activity "The site goes to School".
This year, taking a different approach to the subject, will be the municipal technicians to go to school, there developing the scheduled activity: "The site goes to School".
Between 23 April and 3 May, the school community can tour the archeology and the archaeological work. It will be recreated an excavation for participants to make contact with the methods and techniques of field work: dig; photograph; to draw; and also with the office work, which has the archaeological remains as the protagonist; to wash; Mark; catalog.
The activity will take place at the basic school with 2nd and 3rd cycles of Moura, but also participate students of the Secondary School of Moura.
The International Day for Monuments and Sites was created by the International Council of Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) aiming to raise awareness of the diversity and heritage of vulnerability, as well as the need for its protection and enhancement.
These are concerns that make every year the archaeological team of the municipality if combines the celebrations and develop a set of activities aimed at community.
