Odemira: Acquitted of eight crimes of sexual abuse with teenager.

The individual was accused of having sexual relations with a minor of 14 year old, but the Court of Beja considered the facts unproven.

Nuno C., of 47 year old, residing in Vila Nova de Milfontes, county of Odemira, was acquitted by a Collective of Judges of the Court of Beja of the commission of eleven crimes: eight of sexual acts with teenager, one for subtracting a minor and one for inciting the use of narcotics or psychotropic substances

The magistrates condemned the individual for committing the crime of drug consumption to the penalty of 40 fine days at the rate of 10 euros / day, total no 400 euros.

The Public Prosecutor's Indictment (MP) Odemira, defended that the individual convinced the minor that he was in love with her and that he would formalize the relationship when it reached the 16 year old, always with the intention of having sex with the girl.

The MP maintained that between January and September 2018, the individual had had sexual intercourse with the minor and that on the day 20 of this last month, the individual “convinced the minor to run away with him and went with her to a camp”, adding that the suspect kept the minor in his company and only stopped with the intervention of the police authorities on the day 28 of the same month”, but the judges considered that no evidence was produced to support the facts described in the ten crimes, hence the acquittal.

The accused is tried before a Panel of Judges, being that the victim who became assistants in the process and requested civil compensation, but as the defendant was acquitted, it was dismissed as unfounded.
