Odemira: Câmara presents Municipal Housing Letter.


The Municipality of Odemira presented the Municipal Housing Letter of Odemira, provided for in the Housing Bases Law.

The document is an instrument of planning and territorial planning in articulation with the Municipal Master Plan, that realizes the municipal policy in housing, Considering a universe of challenges, relevant solutions and agents wider than the local housing strategy.

The presentation of this strategic document took place on the day 6 March, in City Hall, within the scope of the public consultation period that runs until the day 9 April. Helder Warrior, Mayor of Odemira, considers that “this instrument will be extremely important to decide the public policies of the future in housing” in the face of the challenges of the territory arising from the population increase, of internal dynamics and asymmetries, relations with other territories and accessibility.

With a temporal horizon of 12 year old, The document included the diagnostic letter of housing needs in the area of ​​the county; the identification of housing resources and local potentialities, namely in an expectant urbanized soil, in abandoned urbanizations or buildings and in vacant fireworks, degraded or abandoned; and the strategic definition of the objectives, Priorities and Goals.

The project defines the needs of urbanized soil and rehabilitation of the building that respond to housing needs; situations that require resolving residential degradation, at the social or urban level, of the cluster or the building; the identification of households in a situation of manifest lack of means for access to housing; interventions to be developed to reverse population loss and gentrification processes; the identification of agents, Public and private, who is responsible for the realization of the interventions to be developed and the agents of the cooperative sector, social network and associations or commissions of residents, called to cooperate for the realization of interventions to develop; and a follow -up model, Monitoring and Evaluation of Execution.
