Odemira: Comic contest honors first Portugal-Macau aerial crossing.


The Municipality of Odemira, in partnership with PNA – National Arts Plan, promotes a comic book competition to mark the centenary of the first Portugal-Macau air crossing.

Or contest, taking place between April and June, is aimed at higher education students, secondary education and basic education (1.º, 23rd and 3rd cycles).

The air journey that linked Portugal to Macau for the first time in 1924 is the motto for the project that celebrates the anniversary in the context of international aviation, as well as the impact it had on the Portuguese people and political life at the time. The comic book competition aims to promote this literary genre, the artistic expression and creative spirit of competitors, simultaneously contributing to the dissemination and knowledge about this aviation feat among the school public.

Registration is open to all students at the aforementioned educational levels until 30 June and competitors must present a work with a maximum of four original boards in Portuguese and A3 format. Works carried out in digital format are also accepted, Each student will be able to compete with more than one work, since separately and with different pseudonyms.

Applications will be analyzed by a jury, which will have as criteria creativity, originality and graphic quality. Among the proposals in competition, Monetary prizes will be awarded to the best works for each level of education and all students will receive a participation diploma. The prizes will be awarded in September, during the activities that conclude the celebrations of the centenary of the Portugal – Macau Air Trip.
