Between the days 30 August and 2 of September, the village of Odemira will host the 5th Stage of Winds and Percussion of the Southwest Alentejo, sponsored by the Philharmonic Band of Odemira.
This initiative has the support of the Municipality of Odemira and Parish Councils of São Salvador/Santa Maria and Boavista dos Pinheiros.
Participants in this internship will have the opportunity to develop their musical techniques with teachers Daniel Batista (Maestro), João Lourenço (Flute), Susana de Oliveira (Oboe), Mario Vinegar (Clarinet), Bernardo Matias (Saxophone), Dario Bento (Trumpet), John Medinas (Horn), Flávio Bolrão (Trombone), Eduardo Sirtori (Bassoon), Nuno Arraiano (Euphonium), LuÃs Student (Tuba) and Ismael Gouveia (Percussion).
In the 5th edition of the Estágio de Sopros e Percussão do Sudoeste, the new work by composer Nuno Osório will be premiered, which contains unique characteristics such as the use of the Portuguese Guitar as a member of the orchestra.
In the final stage will be promoted two shows with musicians. The first is scheduled for the day 1 of September, by 21.30 hours, at Jardim Sousa Prado in Odemira, with the presentation of Chamber Music classes. On 2 September will take place at Cerro do Peguinho, by 21.30 hours, the Closing Concert with the special participation of Mariana Martins and Sónia Barradas based on a poem by Fernando Évora. This is an initiative integrated in the “September, cultural immersionâ€, with free admission.
