Odemira: Photography exhibition "Portraits Sing", to celebrate or 25 April.


“April is in Odemira”. Local Culture Enhancement Center receives the photo exhibition “Pictures do Cante”.

The photo exhibition "Portraits Sing" will be open to the public, until next day 28 April, the Valuation Center Local Culture, in Odemira, as part of celebrations "April in Odemira". The exhibition can be visited from Monday to Friday, entre as 9.00 e as 17.00 hours.

This exhibition presents the sing seen by objective six Alentejo amateur photographers: Álvaro Barriga, Armando Morais, Francisco Romao, Maria Moreira, Pedro Barroso and Ricardo Granjeira.

A co-production of the Municipality of Serpa and Sing House, the exhibition was developed in respect of the registration of the Alentejo sing in the representative list of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, by a number of amateur photographers alentejanos, who left the "demand of the faces that sing".

"The challenge is interesting and surprising result", wrote Paulo Barriga, Alentejo's Daily director in the synopsis of the exhibition, explaining that "There is in the countenance of each singer Alentejo much more than the photographer retains that ephemeral moment. There is on the face of each singer of the Alentejo a real piece of that Alentejo ".
