In 2024, The 11th Festival of Popular Marches in the municipality of Odemira includes the participation of the Longueira/Almograve marches, Savoy, Boavista dos Pinheiros and São Teotónio.
The municipality of Odemira will be celebrating with traditional popular marching parades, that will add color and brighten the nights throughout the month of June, always accompanied by moments of music and lots of entertainment, in an initiative by the Municipality of Odemira and entities that promote marches in the municipality.
In 2024, The 11th Festival of Popular Marches in the municipality of Odemira includes the participation of the Longueira/Almograve marches, Savoy, Boavista dos Pinheiros and São Teotónio. The meetings take place in the locations that promote popular marches and in the town of Odemira, whose parade is part of the Danças da Terra Festival.
With the aim of preserving popular and community traditions, also contributing to social inclusion through culture, the marches are organized by the Centro Cultural Recreativo e Desportivo da Longueira, D Humanitarian Association. Ana Pacheco, Boavista Festival Association and the Association of Retirees and Elderly Pensioners of the Parish of São Teotónio.
Popular marches are already a tradition that annually brings together hundreds of participants in choreographies, music, closet, arrangements and props, with great enthusiasm from the public applauding the parades of the various groups that have the support of the Municipality.
