Rural fire in the parish of São Teotónio may lead the Municipality to use means and resources of the Municipal Emergency and Civil Protection Plan.
In a statement, the president of the Municipality of Odemira, Helder Warrior, informed the population that, following the rural fire that is currently breaking out in the Parish of São Teotónio, and that because it is considered a significant occurrence and with possible adverse effects for the population, “it may be necessary to resort to the means and resources of the Municipal Emergency and Civil Protection Plan for the commitment to actions that may be justified”, justified.
The mayor further informed that “the Municipal Emergency and Civil Protection Plan has been activated since 15 September 2020, in the scope of the Covid-19 pandemic”.
The fire alert was given by the 12.05 hours, in the Medronheira area, north of the village of São Teotónio.
