Mother and son died in a violent three-vehicle collision, this Saturday morning, on the road that connects Odemira to Milfontes. Accident occurs after a first screening with no victims.
In addition to the fatalities, with 42 and 9 year old, the accident, whose warning was given to 2.10 hours, also caused three minor injuries., said the second commander of the Fire Department of Odemira, Jorge Chaino.
Jorge Chainho said that there was a first skid of a light vehicle which resulted in no injuries, a GNR patrol and a tow truck were sent to the location to tow the damaged vehicle.
“After the means are in place, there is a collision of a light vehicle against the trailer and the trailer will collide with the GNR patrol car”, causing three minor injuries, two GNR soldiers and a civilian, and the two fatalities.
A source from the district command of the Civil Protection of the Alentejo Coast told Lusa that the accident occurred at kilometer 6 of the road 393, having led to the cutting of the road which in the meantime has reopened to traffic.
The same Civil Protection source said that the injured were transported to the Hospital Litoral Alentejano by members of the Red Cross..
According to the source of the National Emergency and Civil Protection Authority, were at the scene 15 vehicles accompanied by 33 GNR elements, firefighters and the Red Cross.
